Tango.info track duration

The tango.info music database contains a playing duration for some tracks.

The precision level is 1 second.

The value is stored in the format "<minutes>:<seconds>".

The value can contain the pregap, e.g. for track 02 from

  • 05:39:06 - 02:44:40 ~ 05:39 - 02:44 = 2:55 or
  • 05:39:06 - 02:47:20 ~ 05:39 - 02:47 = 2:52

The data is obtained from different sources, among them are:

  • product description
  • display of track duration in a music player

Gap position

It has been reported to tango.info:

Prefix on CD. Suffix when ripped to 
individual track files - except last file.

XMCD

According to http://ftp.freedb.org/pub/freedb/latest/DBFORMAT

The comments should also contain the string "# Track frame offsets:" 
followed by the list of track offsets (the # of frames from the 
beginning of the CD) obtained from the table of contents on the CD itself

valid XMCD files contain frame offsets from the beginning of a CD.

The standard does not define whether that is INDEX 00 or INDEX 01 as given in the cue sheets.
