When dancing within the Line of Dance (LOD) the courteous dancers are taking a path much like the Planets in our solar system, around and not so close to the center point. Asteroids are dancers who transverse the LOD without giving respect to the established planetary paths. Asteroids cross the center of the floor and dance in a path that resembles a scribble more and less like a circle or ellipse.

Asteroids gain the most amount of attention because their most predominate feature is that they collide with other heavenly bodies. Many times the asteroids over take the planets and crash from behind, sometimes there is an unfortunate side collision or worse two asteroids “T-Bone” (one from each side) another dancer. By far the most annoying impact occurs from an asteroid traveling against the LOD. This may happen because of an unfortunate N/S (north/south) magnetic polarity change in the center axis. Astronomers and chorographer are both unable to explain the phenomenon.

It is believed that asteroids are responsible for ankle vs. stiletto injuries and the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Likewise a Comet is one who seems to be in some other obit, and seldom collides into the bodies traveling along the planetary LOD.

Both Comets and Asteroids cause hazard and concern to planets and dancers alike.

Asteroids should not be confused with the popular breath mint Altoids.
