Dear Friends,
We are happy to announce that Milongueando en Buenos Aires is celebrating its tenth consecutive year, from August 12-15, 2016.
It was 10 years ago that we had the idea for the world’s first Encuentro, in order to bring together our milonguero friends.
We applied the same techniques that we used in our classes and that gave us the opportunity to enrich the dance floors with new milonguero dancers, taking the place of those older dancers whom time had unfortunately taken from us.
It’s dizzying to think about how it all started in 2007 and how it changed over the years. It became transformed, as did the tango itself, along with its local and international milonguero communities. Today the tango scene is different, we ourselves are different, our country and the world are no longer the same.
The questions we have to ask ourselves are: Are we dancing better? Are we teaching better? Many of those who first began dancing ten years ago are today experienced dancers. Those who were already advanced 10 years ago are now teaching tango around the world.
But 10 years of Milongueando, 10 years of pedagogical research and investigation are something to celebrate, because we have grown, because we are still here, because in 2016 the tango is still “alive and kicking”. And that’s well worth a celebration!
So this year we invite you to join us for our Tenth Anniversary!
Our Academia, our instructors and assistants are enthusiastically in the process of organizing the festivities to make this year’s Encuentro an unforgettable event.
The classes will take place in the traditional Dandi Royal Mansion, a place that breathes tango.
Women’s Technique / Men’s Technique / Group Technique with María And Susana TOGETHER / Milonga clases with LIVE percusion / Homage to Alberto Dassieu / Technique and Style of a surprise Milonguero / Guided Practice with the Maestras / Gala Milonga with Performances / Roundtable with some of the teachers and milongueros who have participated in Milongueando en Buenos Aires these past 10 years/ and many more surprises.
