Zwei wundervolle Ereignisse und eine Doppeldosis Tango an einem Abend im Tangotanzen Macht Schön! Zum ersten Mal lädt das Berlin Community Tango Orchestra alle Tangoliebhaber zu einer Milonga mit Live-Musik ein. Unmittelbar vor der Milonga findet ein weiterer Intensivworkshop aus der Reihe "Musikalische Einblicke für Tangotänzer" von Korey Ireland statt. Das Besondere an diesen Abend ist die einzigartige Kombination von Lernen und Anwendung: nach Entdeckung der musikalischen Feinheiten von ausgewählten Tangos im Workshop könnt Ihr bei der Milonga erleben, wie 12 Musiker diese live interpretieren.

Von 17:00-20:00 bringen Korey Ireland, der Pianist Michael Stone, und Mitglieder des Orchesters Euch die musikalischen Mittel der Tango-Orchester der Goldenen Ära nahe. Anhand von Aufnahmen, Bildern, Videobeispielen, Übungen und Spielen bekommt Ihr praktische Einblicke, wie man Elemente der Musik erkennen, voraussehen und tänzerisch in beiden Rollen kreativ umsetzen kann.

Direkt nach dem Workshop beginnt die Milonga mit Live-Musik. Das Berlin Community Tango Orchestra hat sich als Ensemble der Erhaltung und Entwicklung tanzbarer traditioneller Tangomusik widmet. Das Orchester spielt zwei sets mit Musik von Di Sarli, D’Arienzo, Biagi, Donato, Demare, Pugliese, Fresedo, D'Agostino, Canaro und des Orquesta Tipica Victor. Zusätzlich spielt DJ Korey Tandas traditioneller Lieblings-Tangos.

Korey hat sein ganzes Leben lang Musik gemacht, und seit 1989 als Komponist gearbeitet. Seit dem Jahr 2000 tanzt er Tango, und begann wenig später sich professionell mit tanzbarer Tangomusik zu beschäftigen. Korey lebt seit 2009 in Berlin, und hat im gleichen Jahr das Berlin Community Tango Orchestra gegründet.

Two wonderful events in one evening (for one price!) 28.2.2015, Tangotanzen Macht Schön in collaboration with Korey Ireland and the Berlin Community Tango Orchestra offer a double dose of music, dance, and learning. (tango musical magic)

From 17:00-20:00 Korey Ireland presents the next in his acclaimed “Musical Insights for Tango Dancers" series of workshop for tango dancers. The theme of this workshop will be Quality of Movement and musical resources. The workshop reveals through recordings, images, video, exercises, and games the musical resources used by Golden Era tango orchestras to create contrasting and dynamic textures for dancers. We will explore how to recognize, intuit, and incorporate these qualities in the dance from both the leader and follower roles. We will have the opportunity also to experience these different qualities live with the support of musicians from the Berlin Community Tango Orchestra.

Following the workshop, is a milonga, featuring live music with the Berlin Community Tango Orchestra. An ensemble devoted to preserving and developing the tradition of live tango music for dancers. The Orchestra will play two sets featuring dance music from Di Sarli, D’Arienzo, Biagi, Donato, Demare, Pugliese, Fresedo, D'Agostino, Canaro, and Orchestra Tipica Victor. In addition to live music, Korey will DJ tandas of traditional tango favorites affording the opportunity to directly apply and enjoy the ideas from the workshop.

Korey is a lifelong musician/composer. In 2000 he started working in tango and shortly thereafter he began working with tango music for dancers. In 2009 Korey came to Berlin and founded the Berlin Community Tango Orchestra. This event affords the opportunities to merge several of his passions into one evening of dancing, teaching, making music, and sharing tango!
