Description of Cafe de Los Maestros

Tango is so much more than just dance. In Rio de la Plata, tango is a way of life. It is inextricably tied to Argentina, and, above all, to cities such as Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Rosario where many of the old heroes and heroines of the world of tango live. They perform still, some being nearly eighty years in the field. This documentary paints a picture of some of these extraordinary musicians, among whom the creators of tango’s classic repertoire, founders of different styles and schools, and members of bands and orchestra’s who garnered fame in the 1940’s and 50’s - tango’s golden period.
