Great event - have been there and liked it a lot. Short description as in tangokultur.info (translated): Freedom Plaza Every Sunday evening, from May till October, a special event takes place: outdoor milonga at Freedom Plaza, directly between the White House and Capitol. Around seven, the organizers arrive. Again, the choice of music is traditional only, the DJ has his first gig, but does a great job. A large space in which the music is clearly audible provides ample opportunity for dancing. Some couples form, other grab some food before putting on their dancing shoes. One hour later - sunset, the darkness creeps over the plaza, the atmosphere changes: whereas before, dancers practiced and let off steam, now the couples connect closely, dance with more emotion. Tourists and locals - some of which come every week - sit at the enclosures, watch, applause particularly audacious jumps or milonga moves. Once in a while, someone asks the dancers how to start tango, immediately gets friendly information, and an invitation for the next event - or the very first lesson some steps away from the dance floor.
