TINT dot is one representation of a TINT.

Current default is TINT- and TINT/ for folders. TINT\ for folders on Windows.

TINT. was not recommended until now.

e.g.

  • 07798108080248-2-8
  • 07798108080248.2.8

Characteristics compared to TINT dash

  • in url and files names less different chars are used, no "-" here anymore:
  • sub-object representation more like in some programming languages
  • there is only one dot, the word is better known to non-English natives. Dashes exist several and one can see a wrong dash without noticing it is a wrong one.
  • no new line in html documents

Disadvantages

  • current usage differs
    • one more style, switiching costs
