Tango.info subsite

The website or site "tango.info" contains subsites. For years they were located at subdomains.

Subdomains

Explanation

Instead of subdomains the pathnames could be used to present specific content.

e.g.:

• berlin.tango.info -> tango.info/berlin
• festivals.tango.info -> tango.info/festivals

The name on the page could be written as is done for the wiki, i.e. "tango.info/wiki", e.g.

• "tango.info > berlin.tango.info" could become "tango.info/berlin"
• "tango.info > festivals.tango.info" could become "tango.info/festivals"

A search which is carried out via the search bar on the top would then only be applied to "berlin" or "festivals" specific content, as is done currently with the wiki.

Advantages

• maybe in marketing, as tango.info is always visible left most
• using less space on the site
• technically easier to run on local install, if content does not depend on domain anymore.

Disadvantages

• search engine ranking?
• cannot point to other server
  • but if needed links or redirects to another domain can be setup
